He grew up in a Christian home and was blessed with a loving family that shaped who he is today. His mother is his rock and retired from a local bank, and his father served for years as a paramedic and EMS Director and is now completing his third term as Macon County Mayor. Their example taught him the value of serving others and approaching every challenge and responsiblity with confidence and humility. Brent bleeds orange, so there was never another choice than to attend the University of Tennessee. He was active in student government and campus life before going on to law school at Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. In 2007, Brent joined the United States Air Force as a lawyer and served on active duty for more than eleven years as both a defense attorney and senior prosecutor, conducting over 140 trials and handling serious cases involving murder, sexual assault, drugs, fraud, and crimes against children. His service took him around the world, and in 2010, he deployed to Qatar in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Today, he continues his service as a senior prosecutor in the Air Force Reserve. In 2018, Brent left active-duty in the military and moved back home to Tennessee. He continued to serve his country as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Tennessee, prosecuting drug trafficking and other serious federal crimes, dedicating every day to protecting our communities. Brent is blessed to have his wife, Kathy Park, by his side. Kathy is a seasoned journalist with a distinguished career spanning both local and network news, and they live in the Bearden community with their mini goldendoodle, Knox. From his hometown roots to military service to federal prosecution, his career has been about serving others, standing up for the rule of law, and working to make a better community for us all. Brent is committed to making Tennessee the safest place to live, work, and raise a family. DONATE NOW Priorities Public Safety Brent has a strong commitment to justice and public safety. With a background as both a military and federal prosecutor, Brent has spent his career advocating for victims of physical and sexual violence and working tirelessly to hold perpetrators accountable.
